Brawker CEO Cyril Houri Puts Bitcoin Hating Author in His Place
Every now and then, people try to do their very best to tell people what a farce Bitcoin is. In that process, they often focus on the Bitcoin enthusiasts. Getting them angry seems to be the point of these pointless attacks. CCN knows better than to pay attention to this but, sometimes, the Bitcoin community reacts in such a way that the story becomes worth telling. Meet Jeffrey Robinson. Robinson recently wrote a book about Bitcoin called "The naked truth about Bitcoin." We did not read it but it seems the book tries to convince people that they can't buy anything with the virtual....

CEO Cyril Houri has left bitcoin buying service Brawker following a management shakeup. The decentralised platform, which allows bitcoin users to buy "almost anything" online at a discount, is now operated by its two-person development team. Speaking to CoinDesk, the serial entrepreneur said the departure - on "very friendly terms" - would give him more time at location technology firm Navizon, which he founded 10 years ago. He added: "I am still very interested in the cryptocurrency space and will still keep my eyes open in case I come across another interesting project." New development.....
Hong Kong-based Bitcoin startup "Brawker" was launched just last year in late 2013. The service allows users to easily buy anything with bitcoins on a peer-to-peer platform. Brawker served as a centralised escrow to facilitate the exchange of bitcoins and products between users. However, in a recent interview on CCN, Brawker's CEO Cyril Houri told CCN that Brawker would soon become a lot more decentralised. "We are currently working on making our site even more decentralized. We realized after the MtGox bankruptcy that this market desperately needed less centralization. So we will soon....
Most of the times I introduce bitcoins to people who don't know about it, they invariably reply: "Where could I use them?" I would usually reply "at any merchant that accepts bitcoins." But now I'm able to tell them about Brawker. Brawker is proxy buying service that allows you to both buy bitcoins and purchase anything on the internet using bitcoins with a guaranteed discount, just for using bitcoins. Here's how it....
Bitcoin startup Brawker is on a roll. On October 16, the company enabled a New Hampshire-based reddit user "Rossby" score what is a world's first: pay a parking ticket with Bitcoin, and while at it, get a discount in the process too. Brawker is an online marketplace that connects people who want to buy Bitcoin and people who want to buy things with Bitcoin. Brawker allows you to buy anything you can find online with Bitcoin, or use it to buy Bitcoin with your credit card or PayPal account. You can even use Brawker to pay your bills with Bitcoin, as well as buy books that are supposedly....
In a shocking announcement made on April 14, online Bitcoin marketplace Brawker revealed that the company's growth has been below expectations, which is the prime motivation for the complete closure of services. "Our growth rate did not meet our expectations, and the service does not scale as we would have expected to. The Bitcoin community came up with many great startups and the environment is very different from what it was 18 months ago, when we started working on this project." The Bitcoin buying and selling place will dissolve by the end of April 2015 until which users can resolve....
