In June last year, he announced that the company - BitFlyer - has successfully secured $1.6 million from domestic venture capitalists to fund the launching of a new Japan-based bitcoin exchange. The goal, to fill the void left by the collapse of Mt Gox. Here's some news of yet another investment in the cryptocurrency space. Bloomberg reports that Japanese bitcoin exchange BitFlyer has raised approximately 25 million yen (or about $236,000 USD) from Barry Silbert's Bitcoin Opportunity Corp. Japanese exchange Bitflyer has announced a 50 million Yen investment into a new fund which will see Osaka-based IoT startup Sivira as the first company to benefit from the fund. According to the exchange, this is in an effort to support and encourage the growth of blockchain businesses in Japan.
