Blockmatics is Bringing Blockchain Training to NY Professionals

Blockmatics is serving the need for immersive courses for the industry professional looking to get a handle on what blockchains are and how they can be used in their business.

Industry professionals from insurance to healthcare to advertising realize that blockchains are coming to disrupt their industry and are looking to stay ahead of the curve and leverage the technology themselves before some upstart beats them to it.

There are limited resources available for the industry professional looking to get an in-depth training on the subject.

“What you see out there are endless conferences and talks which just give a general overview of the technology without the observer really feeling confident in their understanding of it. There’s very little that explains how to leverage the technology for yourself, where do you start, and what the tradeoffs of one blockchain are over another” says co-founder Dr. Solomon Lederer.

“While there are training resources available for the software engineer, there’s nothing out there for the accountant, the product manager, or the CTO. These are the people that very much need to know how the technology works, and how to build a product with it,” he continues.

Blockmatics focus is on hands-on exercises and group sessions where students experiment with everything from apps like the OpenBazaar bitcoin marketplace to launching their very own blockchain on Microsoft Azure.

“There’s only so much you can learn by listening to talks” says co-founder Sean T. McKeough. “We all know the best way to learn something is by doing.”

Blockmatics also runs free technical workshops through their affiliated coworking space Coinspace in Brooklyn.

“We’ve been teaching about bitcoin and blockchains for 2 years now” says Lederer.

Blockmatics is an outgrowth of their informal workshops as people were asking for comprehensive, immersive courses. While the workshops are in Brooklyn, the Blockmatics courses are held at venues across the city.

Their most popular course, The Business of Blockchains, is a general knowledge course on blockchain technology for the novice and casual observer. It promises to make each student the “the smartest person in the room” when it comes to blockchains. Their next class is Dec 16 (http://bit.ly/2gds7LW). Upon completion of the course, the list of the graduates are published on the Ethereum blockchain.

You can find out more information on Blockmatics and the courses they offer on their website, http://blockmatics.tech/ and their twitter, @Blockmatics. For questions or inquiries about private sessions please email [email protected].
