Blockchain Returns to Apple iOS with New Bitcoin Wallet

Users have reported a bug in the denomination functionality on Blockchain's iOS app whereby orders are being billed in 'bits' - also known as 'uBTC' - rather than 'BTC'. For example, a user buying an item would click the 'Pay with Bitcoin' link, but their wallet (configured to display in 'bits') would send .0843 bits instead of .0843 BTC. Apple has removed the Blockchain wallet app from its iOS App Stores, leaving iPhone and iPad users with no native bitcoin wallet options for their devices. Apple offered no explanation for the action and no option to appeal, other than saying the removal was due to "an unresolved issue". The Cupertino company's move did not come as a complete surprise, as Apple had previously banned bitcoin wallet apps Coinbase and CoinJar, and insisted encrypted messaging app Gliph remove an option that allowed users to send bitcoin. CoinJar is still available for download on the local Australian App....

Apple has dealt a blow for Dash users looking to use the cryptocurrency on the iOS platform after telling multi-platform cryptocurrency wallet Jaxx to remove Dash from its iOS app. Apple is unwilling to let Dash – the eight largest cryptocurrency in the world by market cap – onto its App Store, according to revelations by crypto-wallet Jaxx founder Anthony Di Iorio. Cryptocurrency enthusiasts will remember Apple’s strict moderating policies when it removed Blockchain’s bitcoin wallet iOS app back in 2014. At the time, the application was the last wallet app on the App Store and the move....
