New venture fund Katalyst.ph formed in the Philippines

A new venture fund Katalyst.ph has been formed in the Philippines to help create new businesses in the country, particularly in the startup industry.

Katalyst.ph gears to live up to its name to serve as catalyst for business creations by working with individuals that fund and lend to startups.

Katalsyt.ph is headed by its Founder and Chief Executive Officer Pinky Natividad, and two advisory board members, Joe Maristela and Jardine Gerodias.

Pinky is a certified public accountant, an active civic-minded leader poised to lead Katalyst.ph's startup programs to help her network of angel investors and venture capitalists choose from the best possible lot of the philippines.

Meanwhile, Joe is also the founder and COO of healthcare business process outsourcing (BPO) company Star Business Center in Makati City. He also sits as board member of the Bitcoin Organization of the Philippines.

Jardine, however, is the Founder of Rebit.ph, a service of Satoshi Citadel Industries, a Philippine-based holdings company for Bitcoin-related ventures.

“Katalyst.ph's attention is on the criteria if a company is based in the Philippines, or is it Filipino-owned or operated in some way. We focus on this because there are segments of the Philippine economy that are overrun by multinational subsidiaries, like in the BPO industry, agriculture, industrial foods, and many others. And Katalyst.ph wants to change that,” Pinky said.

She added Katalyst.ph will be doing convertible debt deals and safe investments.

“Investing in the Philippines means investing in Filipino-owned companies and startups. Katalyst.ph is the conduit. We are working with individuals that fund and lend to startups,” Pinky said.

Katalyst.ph is headquartered at the Townes Inc Building in Barangay San Lorenzo in Makati City.
