Gatecoin Exchange Announces Advisory Board

TechStars Accelerator partner, former CIO of top brokerage firm Newedge among those tapped to help boost Gatecoin exchange’s growth.

Gatecoin’s CEO and co-founder Aurélien Menant continues to build his company’s reputation as the go-to digital currency financial institution in the rapidly growing B2B market with the help of an advisory board composed of seasoned investment bankers, top brokerage firm executive, entrepreneurs and IT managers.

Among the individuals who will serve as Gatecoin’s advisor is George Popescu, a seasoned entrepreneur and fintech innovator currently serving as a Techstars Accelerator partner. He is the CEO of Backed Inc., an online lending platform, and Partner at LunaCap Ventures.

Popescu is a forex trading veteran, having built Boston Technologies—a forex trading technology provider named the #1 Fastest Growing Companies in Boston by the Boston Business Journal and four years in a row among the Inc 500 Fastest Private Growing Companies in America. He will serve as Gatecoin’s Chairman of the Board.

Jacques Tepe who brings 16 years of experience in the brokerage industry with responsibilities including CIO and global head of IT sales of Newedge in Asia

Luis Bellver who helped set up the first online bank in Spain 20 years ago, and has since built a career at top tier banks including Credit Suisse. Bellver is currently Director at the FIG (financial institutions) division for a major investment bank

Ian Brodie who has 25 years of experience in IT management having worked for major brand names in France and Hong Kong and currently Managing Director of Pandora IT

Collectively, Gatecoin’s advisory board members bring a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship, banking, and trading exchange systems, which will help Gatecoin grow and capture the B2B digital currency market. “Our aim is to curate a group of advisors with the invaluable experience and insight to bring Gatecoin to the next level,” Menant explained. “I am confident that our advisory board members will help us achieve just that.”

Gatecoin Announces Re-Launch of its Trading Platform

The cryptocurrency and blockchain exchange announced today that it will be relaunching its trading platform after suspending trading earlier this year following a breach on its system.
