KnCMiner's 2TH Neptune ASIC Bitcoin Miner Announced
The folks over at KnCMiner today announced their brand-new Neptune ASIC Bitcoin miner, complete with 20nm chips capable of 2TH processing power (0.7 watts per GH/sec, which makes it 30 percent more power efficient than the current generation). Right now, the Neptune is just an announcement. Nothing has launched, and the company isn't being precise on just when consumers can expect release. As of current, KnCMiner co-founder Sam Cole says shipping can be expected by "end of winter/early spring", and also notes that consumers in the United States who purchase the device may have power....

J-J's broken KnCMiner Super Jupiter. KnCMiner has started shipping a 3 TH/s Bitcoin mining box, the largest single Bitcoin ASIC miner in existence at the moment. The unfortunate part, though, is that none of these KnCMiner Super Jupiters arrived at their destination in one piece. KnCMiner has responded promptly on their forum, promising to ship new, properly constructed, units to affected customers, free of charge. KnCMiner also emphasized that customers needing to RMA their Super Jupiter would not have to pay return shipping on the existing $10,000 “machine” that was shipped to them; they....
Sweden-based digital currency mining hardware developer KnCMiner has announced that customers waiting for their Neptune mining product to ship can opt to receive a modified Jupiter rig instead. The Neptune sports 3 TH/s of hashing speed and carries a price tag of $9,995. The 20-nm miner is based on the Jupiter design, but consumes 30% less electricity at an estimated rate of 0.7 watts per GH/s. The announcement, published on the company's website, offers KnCMiner customers an alternative to waiting for the production of the Neptune line of mining hardware. Technology swap available. The....
Swedish cryptocurrency mining hardware developer KnCMiner has announced that it has received the first batch of Neptune ASICs, which are the world's first 20nm mining ASIC designs. The company said in a 17th June blog post that this initial batch is currently undergoing testing and optimization. The first products based on the new chips are expected to ship this week, it added. KnCMiner also announced that its preliminary estimates on hashing output and power consumption were accurate, stating: "We've reached our initial targets on speed and power consumption. But, as this is the first day....
Just recently, Sweden-based KnCMiner put up their brank-spanking-new miner - dubbed 'Neptune' - up for pre-order (with eventual release slated for early 2014). Today, the sales figures are out, and they're absolutely mind-blowing. Company spokesman Alex Lawn says KnC managed to sell $8 million worth of Neptune bitcoin miners in 24 hours alone. At a cost of about $10,000 per unit, Lawn says the company was doing $1 million in sales per hour for the first five hours. The Neptune miner is capable of mining up to 2.1 Bitcoins daily under
KnCMiner will today announce Neptune, its next-generation product: an ASIC bitcoin miner using 20nm chips that will provide at least 3TH of power. The new boxes, which will ship "end of winter/early spring", according to co-founder Sam Cole, will offer 0.7 watts per GH/sec. That represents a 30% power saving on its current generation of 28nm chips, he said. KnCMiner's marketing model is conservative. It publishes nominal specifications for its devices ahead of time, with the caveat that these will probably be at the low end, and that real-world performance will be higher. It promised....
