DocumentAdvisor Offers New Third-party Turkish Visa Option

Besides accepting multiple payment methods, http://www.visaturkeyapplication.com offers 24/7 chat and phone support, and can be translated into 20 different languages. On the website, clients can pay for their Turkish Visa online with their local currency—thus avoiding hefty exchange rate commissions.

The site also accepts any major credit cards and virtual payment methods, from American Express to PayPal, and plans are in place to accept Bitcoin in the future, as well. The service fee for the website is just $9.95 per visa.

In 2014, Turkey introduced new eVisa requirements that could cost British tourists an extra £13 million per year. Previously, £10 sticker-type visas allowed travel to numerous popular Turkish resort locations. With the new eVisa Credit Card system, Brits are required to pay 20 US Dollars, which, at the current exchange rate, is £2.82 more expensive. Foreign currency conversion fees add another £5.30 when tourists pay with Credit Card and £1.30 with Debit.

In a recent article, the Fethiye Times (http://www.fethiyetimes.com/news/44-news/7510-2014-01-04-13-45-59.html ) described the rising costs of Turkish tourism due to a new electronic Turkish visa system with steep currency conversion fees and limited credit card choices.

The Electronic Turkish Visa Application System is an easy-to-use eVisa website, but it has its faults. In addition to the limited and expensive nature of the system's payment options, travelers have often complained that the site does not accept their credit cards. These travelers can opt to use an unofficial third-party site to complete their visa transactions, but many of these websites are scams designed to look exactly like the government site. Some of these sites can charge up to £99 in service fees.

"Last year when I visited Turkey, the government website did not accept my Visa card because it was not chip enabled," said Sergio Merino, the company's co-founder and an alumni from the Harvard Business School.

"I had to pay an exorbitant service fee in order to enter the country. I realized immediately there was a void to be filled."

Many countries around the world are adopting eVisa systems to save travelers the hassle of visiting a consulate. Countries implementing this type of system include Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Cambodia, Canada (2016), India, Kenya, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Turkey and the United States.

The company behind http://www.visaturkeyapplication.com/ currently offers visa services in four other countries, including India (at http://www.indiavisaapplication.com/) and hopes to one day become the one-stop shop for all travelers' passport and visa needs.
