Dallas/Fort-Worth Startup Begins Accepting Bitcoins for Dropshades

Bitcoin is a revolutionary peer-to-peer digital currency that utilizes a collective network to mange transactions instead of a central authority or bank.

“We are incredibly excited to announce that our customers can now purchase DropShades with Bitcoins,” said co-founder and CEO Harrison Herndon.

The decision to accept the digital currency was all about providing customers with convenient and diverse payment options.

“We’ve had a lot of requests from customers interested in using their Bitcoins to purchase DropShades,” explained Herndon.

“Once we felt confident in the system, we made the decision to open up our e-commerce store to the digital currency.”

Most traditional retailers are taking a wait-and-see approach when it comes to Bitcoins. DropShades has been anything but a traditional retailer. The startup was crowdfunded on Kickstarter last June when it raised $78,128 in one month, 520% over its funding goal.

“We set up our system to convert Bitcoins into dollars for any orders we get on our website.” said co-founder Skylar Perkins.

“We’re still a startup so we have to be conscientious of the risks we take on. Immediately converting Bitcoins to dollars functionally eliminates our risk and protects DropShades from any volatility in Bitcoin’s exchange value.”

At the time of this article’s publication, one Bitcoin was trading for $808. At that exchange rate, it will cost you 0.06181 BTC to get a pair of DropShades.
