Malwarebytes to Begin Accepting Bitcoin for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
In keeping with the company’s customer-focused ideals, Malwarebytes has announced that it will begin accepting Bitcoin for its consumer products.
Malwarebytes, the provider of the No. 1 user installed anti-malware solution, today announced that it will become the first major security company to accept Bitcoin payment for the company’s consumer anti-malware suite. Malwarebytes will begin accepting the digital currency on February 5, 2014.
“As a leader in security, we are excited to accept a crypto currency that provides a level of anonymity to our security-conscious customers”
Malwarebytes has been fascinated with Bitcoin since the beginning and has been following its evolution closely. As the currency’s popularity has grown, the team recognized its appeal and wanted to support its customers and the Bitcoin community by offering an added secure option for purchasing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
“As a leader in security, we are excited to accept a crypto currency that provides a level of anonymity to our security-conscious customers,” said Marcin Kleczynski, CEO of Malwarebytes.
“Protecting customer privacy is part of our DNA, and taking payment in Bitcoins is a logical extension of that ethos. We think the story behind Bitcoin is an exciting one as well, and we’re thrilled to support the Bitcoin community. Malwarebytes is a forward-leaning company, and this is a natural fit.”
Malwarebytes has long been an advocate of online privacy rights, and employs powerful anti-spyware and aggressive Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) detection in its flagship anti-malware product, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, specifically to protect customer privacy.
As the maker of the top user-downloaded security product, Malwarebytes constantly strives to offer customers the best possible experience – from purchase point, to download, to use. This dedication to enhancing customer experience contributed to Malwarebytes’ decision to accept Bitcoin.
To start, Malwarebytes will be accepting Bitcoin for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro. Malwarebytes products that can be purchased with Bitcoin will have a Bitcoin logo on the page. Malwarebytes will be using Coinbase as the payment platform.
