BTCChina Releases Blockchain Inscribing Service

BTCChina Forever allows users to easily and permanently write messages into the blockchain.

In celebration of its 4th anniversary, BTCChina has launched Forever, a new service that allows anyone in the world to permanently engrave messages into the bitcoin blockchain. Due to the design of the bitcoin blockchain, these messages will be permanently propagated across thousands of nodes on the bitcoin network, and stay with us forever.

Whether you want to send a message to a loved one, memorialize an important event, make a wish, write a fun message, or make a permanent record, Forever allows you to engrave your message for perpetuity.

BTCChina operates one of the largest bitcoin mining pools in the world and generates many new blocks everyday. Therefore, we are able to offer this unique service. Whenever we mine a new block, we insert customized text into a special segment of the block, known as the “coinbase.” For the Forever service, messages using Latin characters have a 60 character limit, whereas Chinese or other multi-byte messages have a 20 character limit. Blockchain engraving is special because of its scarcity; the bitcoin network only produces a limited number of blocks everyday.

BTCChina CEO, Bobby Lee explained, “We wanted to introduce this novel aspect of the bitcoin blockchain in a fun and non-technical way, so that everyone can memorialize their thoughts, make a wish, or even send a message into the future, to their great-great-grandchildren. Most people don’t have the knowledge or resources to write into the blockchain directly, so we feel this is a great way to engage the community, to commemorate our anniversary, and to show our commitment to bitcoin.”

BTCChina Forever messages are available for just 100 mBTC each during this 30-day promotional period. Once you write your message, it will appear on the blockchain within 48 hours, and you will then receive a link to view and share your creation.
