Cloud Hosting Service Host Virtual Goes Bitcoin in the New Year

In the last year, Bitcoin’s become a force in its own right and we’re very pleased that we’re able to accept payment from our customers.

Bitcoin may be a virtual currency that only exists on the internet, but now it can buy the very real, class-leading cloud hosting services of Host Virtual.

Host Virtual’s inclusion of Bitcoin, a peer-to-peer means of remittance, is for those who choose not to use credit or debit cards or those who live in emerging economies. These customers will have the same access to the company’s plans, 15 datacenters around the world and self-service cloud hosting platform as its other customers.

Host Virtual will verify customer identities and utilizing fraud control procedures for transactions involving Bitcoin. The company views it as a payment option and not a means to conduct business incognito, despite Bitcoin being known for its anonymity.

"In the last year, Bitcoin’s become a force in its own right and we’re very pleased that we’re able to accept payment from our customers. Other companies that offer online services are accepting it, retail websites are welcoming it and people are even buying cars with it. Bitcoin can buy very real goods and services on and offline." Host Virtual Senior Vice President Sandy Bhargavi said.

The addition of Bitcoin joins the existing payment options Host Virtual accepts: Paypal, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Alipay, as well as bank wire/ACH — and even old-fashioned paper checks.
