BitPay Opens San Francisco and New York Offices

BitPay, the world leader in business solutions for the Bitcoin digital currency, has opened offices in San Francisco and New York. These offices will supplement BitPay’s Atlanta headquarters to handle sales, implementation and operational support for BitPay’s merchants.

“BitPay has many merchants accepting bitcoin throughout Silicon Valley so we are thrilled to extend our exceptional sales and customer support by opening an office in San Francisco,” says Paige Freeman, VP of Sales at BitPay. “We look forward to expanding into various markets both here in the U.S. and internationally.”

Joining Paige Freeman in the San Francisco office is John Dreyzehner, the leader of BitPay’s Client Operations on the west coast. John has a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Virginia and is an avid musician and rock climber.

In New York City, BitPay announces the addition of Andy Goldstein as Regional Sales Manager. Andy is a 15-year veteran of Visa, Inc. previously functioning as a Senior Business Development Leader for their Merchant Sales and Solutions group, and has also worked in Visa's Merchant Support operations group. Andy will be responsible for BitPay’s merchant accounts in the eastern United States and eastern Canada.

Eric Martindale, BitPay’s Developer Evangelist, will be a regular visitor to both offices. Eric has been involved in several startups before becoming involved with Bitcoin. He joined BitPay to focus on the API development, hackathons and other opportunities in the open source community.

BitPay now has a staff of 31 full-time employees worldwide, with 22 full-time employees located at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta, six employees in Argentina, two employees in San Francisco and one employee in New York.

BitPay is exhibiting this week at the Game Developers Conference in booth 112, and is a Platinum Sponsor of the Coin Summit on March 25-26. In New York, BitPay is sponsoring the Inside Bitcoins event on April 7-8 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center.
